There are various kinds of health insurance options available today. Medical Care Plans

Medical care plans are also a part of the health insurance coverage but they are more restricted and focused on certain areas of medical coverage. These plans are based on various factors which include Medical insurance for the individuals, medical insurance for families, medical insurance for a group which is usually office or corporate based, international medical insurance, travel medical insurances and other similar kinds of major medical insurances. Medical care plans focus more on visits to the doctors, clinical bills and similar medicinal focused health care.

Different Kinds of Health Insurance and Medical Care Plans

There are two main categories of health insurances and medical care plans. These are the comprehensive plans and the specialized plans.

a) Comprehensive Medical Plans

The comprehensive plans take care of the visits to doctors, drugs, care at hospitals and other related costs. The comprehensive plan also known as the indemnity plans require monthly premiums and the insurance companies pay for about 80% of the medical costs. In the managed health care plans there is a monthly premium and the payments for services are given to a set of doctors, hospitals and clinics. A small amount has to be paid to this group every time their services are used while the insurer takes care of the rest.

b) Specialized Plans These specialized plans take care of particular illnesses.

These include health costs for that particular disease, surgery or certain kinds of accidents. But those medicinal expenses, for which a plan has not been taken, are not paid by the insurer.
